As the community quarantine gets extended, the list of tasks that we can do inside the house also copes up. Here’s the continuation of our list from Episode 1:
- Binge Watch Your Favorite Series and Movies
I am guilty of missing the times I get to watch our favorite “teleserye” (series) with my loved ones, again because I’m “too occupied” with work on weekdays and of “me time” on weekends.
Now I got no excuses anymore. We have a TV with local channels at home, Netflix with one user subscription, stock up chips for sharing and more than enough TIME to make “We times” on top of my “work-from-home and me times”.
- Join a Group E-xercise (online group exercise)
A strong immune system can be our best armor against this “unwanted visitor”. Aside from eating healthy, doing a 15-30 minute exercise every morning will surely boost our energy, burn excess fats, smoothen blood flow, make skin glow and strengthen the body, thus, makes us happier and age slow.
So set your alarm clock, wipe clean that old mat, full up the water jugs, start pumping that gorgeous bod and join an online group exercise that will help you motivate each other.
- Look for an Online Job (Part-time or Full-time)
“Earn from the comfort of your own homes” was a luxury that seemed impossible to majority of us whose jobs require leaving our houses, battling the stressful traffic and spending most of our everyday lives in our respective work places.
But now it was served up on us on a silver platter. Lucky for those employed who are allowed work-from-home. Lucky for those who have laptop or mobile phone with internet connection. We have the privilege and time to look for an online job and have additional income. On what to do with that money, it’s up to you.
- Update Your Resume
I have friends who have been wanting to go out and explore for greener pastures but are still stuck in their current jobs. The thing is, they don’t have the time to update their CVs. I was once guilty of this too.
Updating your resume doesn’t mean resigning immediately after freeing from this lockdown. We can use our time to rethink if we really want to leave our current jobs or to stay as they stayed with us during this trying time. At least we’re ready whichever decision it may be.
- List Things To-Do After this Lockdown
Surely there are a lot we want to do once the situation is back to normal. Go to church, dine in our favorite restaurants, head to shopping malls, visit the gym, meet with friends, travel to tourist destinations or stay comfortably at home.
We can choose to do our usual old activities outside, continue with our home quarantine routines or select from both and start doing new things.
I just realized the number of times I mentioned TIME in this article. Still, it’s nothing compared to the times I complained about having no time to do the things that I love, things that I’ve been longing to do in life.
Now that we have plenty of time, let’s use it to reflect on what really matters and to prepare ourselves. Because soon enough we will live life out there…again. Not the way we used to, but in more responsible, appreciative and efficient ways to use our finite time here on earth.
